OneNote In the Cloud

Wednesday, October 29, 2008

I've posted before about using evernote as a capture tool, saying how I liked the ability to access my notes via the web and how this was an advantage over OneNote. Well looks like things are going to change with Office 14. Watch this video, OneNote on the web synchronising with OneNote on a client machine, they also say you'll be able to access it via a windows mobile device. This is just what I'm looking for, hope it gets out soon...

Microsoft...so inside the box of you. I tried using Evernote, but the fact that I have monthly fee upset me. OneNote is my app of choice, but this feature should have been in 2007. They made it work with Sharepoint, but not everyone has a Sharepoint server at home.

An alternative to this is to setup something with an online host or have an FTP server at home. Then just create a mapped drive that connects to the FTP directory. Vista can do it out of the box and I believe XP needs software. It works though.
